China and Mongolia to Sign Long-term Agreement for Increased Fuel Supply

Mongol News Agency, Ulaanbaatar, January 19th - According to a news office of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mongolia and China National Petroleum Corporation have reached a consensus on signing a long-term agreement to increase fuel supply.

Recently, Mongolian Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Gontsengiin Dandingnyam met with a delegation from China National Petroleum Corporation. The two sides discussed issues such as expanding the scale of fuel supply, ensuring stable supply, and deepening cooperation in the energy sector.

During the meeting, Minister Gontsengiin Dandingnyam stated that Mongolia will continue to adhere to the policy direction of ensuring a continuous and stable supply of domestic fuel. The Chinese petroleum delegation introduced their stable fuel supply to the Mongolian market and the possibilities and related plans for further expanding the supply scale, and expressed willingness to further consolidate and deepen the cooperation between the two sides on the existing basis.

It is reported that currently about 95% of Mongolia's fuel is imported from Russia, and the remaining about 5% comes from China. The signing of this agreement is expected to further optimize Mongolia's fuel supply structure and enhance its energy security capabilities.
