China's construction of the Mongolia garbage incineration power plant project will start in 2026

Mongolia News Agency, Ulaanbaatar, December 24th, according to the office of the head of the capital administration, under the framework of "large projects" for the development of Ulaanbaatar City, a "garbage incineration power plant" with a daily waste processing capacity of 1,500 tons and a power generation capacity of 35 megawatts located in Moringindava is planned to be built between 2025-2028.

The project will be implemented through public-private partnership and has already signed a cooperation agreement with "Renshou Chuanneng Environmental Energy Co., Ltd." in October this year, and it is expected to officially start the construction project in 2026.

At present, the land acquisition and demolition work of the project has been completed by 64%. Among the total of 158 plots, 101 plots have already been cleared.

After the completion of the project, Ulaanbaatar City will be able to incinerate 31.8% of its domestic waste and feed the generated electricity into the city grid.

During the implementation of the project, it is expected to create more than 300 temporary jobs; after the project is put into operation, it will provide 86 long-term stable jobs.
