Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Russia will base the further development of its relations with Armenia on actions rather than words.
Zakharova said at a press briefing: "Russia has never opposed Armenia's diversification of diplomatic ties, but the current policy of the Armenian government is not necessarily so, nor can it be described as balanced."
Zakharova added: "We have heard official statements from Armenia indicating that Yerevan wishes to maintain relations with Russia and will not allow anyone to use the country against our nation. However, we are accustomed to judging not just by words, but also by actions. Their words and deeds, however, are becoming increasingly inconsistent."
