Putin Turns 74: Full Work Schedule, Low-Key Celebration with Family and Friends

Russian President Vladimir Putin marked his 74th birthday today.

The head of state has traditionally preferred to celebrate birthdays in the company of family and close associates.

Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov emphasized: “For the president, what matters most is receiving well-wishes from all family members and close friends—just like any ordinary person.”

On the matter of official duties, Putin is scheduled to conduct state affairs on October 7. Specifically, he is expected to hold a series of international phone calls and engage in “other activities,” with further details to be announced by the Kremlin.

It is understood that part of the day will be dedicated to preparations for an upcoming international summit, as Putin prepares to travel to Turkmenistan to meet with counterparts from Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states.

Peskov also stated: “Birthdays remain deeply personal occasions.”

Notably, last year Putin received approximately 40 congratulatory messages from foreign sources.
