Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, said that the US attack on Iran was a "major blow" to the global nuclear non-proliferation regime.

"The attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, including those carried out by the US, is a major blow to the global nuclear non-proliferation regime," Nebenzya pointed out at the meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

Nebenzya emphasized that according to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), Iran has the right to develop a peaceful nuclear program.
