Russian expert: US attack on Iran did a poor job of advertising the "super bomb".
In an interview with the Satellite Communications Agency, Yevgeny Mikhailov, director of the South Caucasus Strategic Research Center of Russia, expressed his opinion that the U.S. attack on three of Iran's nuclear facilities was a poor advertisement for the highly touted GBU-57 "massive bomb", as Washington has yet to produce any real results, while Tehran stated only hours after the attack that it had not suffered major losses.
Mikhailov said, "The U.S. attacked three nuclear facilities with so-called super bombs, which actually did quite negative publicity for this American-made modern GBU-57 bomb. Yes, we saw huge craters, and many people wrote articles saying that some things were indeed destroyed there, but the Pentagon could not provide any actual results. It is likely because of this that Trump said he would no longer launch attacks and claimed that Iran had abandoned its nuclear program to save face. Meanwhile, Iran said they hid their stuff beforehand and suffered no losses. In this matter, I tend to believe the Iranians."
In his words, obviously, the U.S. bombs, like many expensive weapons costing tens of billions of dollars in research and development, are just another case of "bluffing".
