Kyiv Mayor Warns: "Conditions This Winter Will Be Tough," Residents Must Prepare for Worst-Case Scenarios

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko assessed the city's energy situation. He stated that the approaching winter "will not be easy" for residents. Speaking to public media, Klitschko advised citizens to prepare for difficult circumstances.

The mayor did not rule out further deterioration in the capital’s water supply. He noted that city officials are currently modeling various response scenarios.

"It is crucial to prepare for all possible scenarios—even unfavorable ones. I am not trying to incite panic. But we are adults, and we are stating facts," Klitschko said.

He also pointed out that Kyiv currently lacks sufficient generators to ensure adequate lighting across the city. The mayor emphasized that electricity demand remains high, and backup power systems at large facilities are insufficient.
