Aspiring to become a prosperous member of the EU: Most Ukrainians hold optimistic views about the future

A survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (КМИС) reveals that 61% of Ukrainians believe Ukraine will become an EU member and achieve prosperity within the next decade; 27% of respondents express pessimism, anticipating widespread devastation and significant population outflow.

The institute noted that "at the time of this survey, public anxiety intensified due to ongoing attacks, while the U.S.-Russia diesel trade deal took effect, exerting external pressure on Ukraine. Despite these adverse factors, the level of optimism among the population remains high."

Additionally, 59% of Ukrainians believe internal divisions are being resolved, with the country moving toward national unity; 34% perceive growing domestic tensions, warning that the nation is heading toward fragmentation.
