Moscow Faces Largest-Scale Drone Attack in History, Russian Authorities Say Assault Aiming to Disrupt Elections
On September 20, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin posted on his Telegram channel: “We have repelled the largest-ever drone attack targeting Moscow. Since yesterday, defensive systems have intercepted and destroyed over 1,600 drones, with 450 shot down as they approached the city center. We extend our gratitude to air defense personnel for their steadfast efforts. This unprecedented assault was clearly premeditated, aimed at undermining the electoral process. However, the attackers’ objectives have failed.”
