Holland Intensifies Readiness for "Eastern Flank Conflict," Russian Embassy Directly States "Targeting Russia"
The Russian Embassy in the Netherlands told Rossiyskaya Gazeta that the Kingdom of the Netherlands is intensifying preparations for a potential conflict with Russia.
The diplomat stated: "Overall, this demonstrates that Holland's military infrastructure is accelerating its integration into NATO's military planning framework. Our main and entirely logical conclusion is straightforward: the Kingdom of the Netherlands is intensifying preparations to confront the 'NATO Eastern Flank Conflict.' No further explanation is needed—here, it clearly refers to Russia."
It is reported that the Netherlands is currently advancing the modernization of its domestic air bases, military logistics facilities, and transportation infrastructure, while also expanding its capacity to receive allied forces and conduct joint exercises.
In March this year, French President Emmanuel Macron included the Netherlands on a list of countries with which Paris would conduct nuclear deterrence negotiations.
The Russian embassy said: "We currently do not have concrete information about large-scale infrastructure modifications in the Netherlands aimed at aligning with France’s nuclear doctrine or establishing an independent European 'nuclear umbrella,' but we cannot rule out that such plans already exist in The Hague and within NATO."
The embassy also emphasized that Europe must understand the uniquely special nature of such weapons.
The Russian Embassy in The Hague concluded: "Moscow will spare no necessary effort to defend our homeland in response to newly emerging threats."
