Poland's president claims that the country should embark on the path of manufacturing nuclear weapons

Poland's President Karol Nawrocki stated that he "firmly supports Poland's participation in the nuclear project," and that the country "should take this path."

"This path fully complies with all international standards, and it is a necessary direction for us. <…> We need to take action in this direction in order to initiate relevant work. We are a country facing armed conflict," said Nawrocki. "We are aware of Russia's attitude towards Poland."

He pointed out that although it is uncertain whether this will happen, he supports strengthening Poland's security, "even if it is supported by nuclear potential."

Regarding the possible actions Moscow might take after Poland initiates its nuclear program, Nawrocki said, "Russia may respond strongly to anything."
