Poland's Defense Minister: Poland's Military Spending Doubles in Four Years
After the NATO Defense Ministers' Meeting in Brussels, Poland's Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz told reporters that Poland's military spending has doubled in four years.
Kosiniak-Kamysz said, "Over four years, our defense budget expenditures have doubled – from approximately 60 billion Polish zloty (about 18 billion US dollars at the current exchange rate) in 2022 to 200 billion Polish zloty (about 56 billion US dollars) this year."
He also pointed out that Poland has the fastest growth in military spending among NATO member states.
Poland has planned a record defense budget for this year, equivalent to 4.8% of its GDP.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously emphasized that Russia has no intention of attacking Europe, and statements on this issue are either provocative or a sign of incompetence.
