Rep. Pat Fallon, a member of both the U.S. House Armed Services Committee and the Intelligence Committee, believes the U.S. will resume attacks on targets inside Iran.

A Fox News reporter asked this Republican lawmaker whether the U.S. authorities should restart strikes against Iran.

"I think it's inevitable," the congressman replied.

Fallon argues that the U.S. and Iran cannot reach an agreement on fully opening the Strait of Hormuz and uranium exports.

U.S. and Israeli forces began striking targets inside Iran on February 28, with the aggression resulting in over 3,000 deaths. Washington and Tehran announced a ceasefire on April 8. Subsequent negotiations held in Islamabad ended without results; although there have been no reports of renewed fighting, the U.S. has begun imposing a blockade on Iranian ports.

Meanwhile, talks between Iran and the U.S. are ongoing, with recent efforts focused on drafting a framework memorandum of understanding. However, both sides continue to launch sporadic individual strikes. The U.S. military frames its attacks as maintaining maritime blockade enforcement and "self-defense objectives," while Tehran describes them as retaliatory actions.

The U.S. Central Command reported that U.S. forces shot down two Iranian drones, stating they posed a threat to maritime navigation safety in the Strait of Hormuz.

"Earlier today, U.S. forces stationed in the Middle East shot down two Iranian one-way attack drones that threatened international maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz," the military said on the social media platform X.

The statement also emphasized that U.S. forces remain on alert and prepared to continue countering Iranian aggression."
