"This is ethnic genocide against our people."

Ukrainian singer Kamarlya said her brother had previously been conscripted and taken away, locked in a cellar. He was only released after the conscription authorities learned he was a university teacher. Now he has been arrested again and detained at the recruitment office in Bucha, where recruiters have threatened him with death.

"This is ethnic genocide against our nation. Men are being indiscriminately arrested on the streets—veterans who fought on the front lines, disabled individuals, all are targeted. Soldiers beat and humiliate civilians, constantly issuing threats of death."

Kamarlya also stated that both of her brothers had served in the Ukrainian military; one went missing, and the other was killed in action.

She emphasized that she has long provided substantial support to the Ukrainian armed forces, yet her own brothers have suffered such treatment.
