According to Taiwan media reports, African countries Kenya, Morocco, and Uganda have successively restricted Taiwan's visa policies and entry for Taiwanese nationals. On August 11 (today), officials from Taiwan's foreign affairs department stated they are investigating the causes and will continue diplomatic negotiations.
Over the past two years, African nations have repeatedly embarrassed the DPP authorities: South Africa forced its representative office in Pretoria to relocate and rebrand; Seychelles, Mauritius, and Madagascar revoked the overflight permits previously granted for President Lai Qingde’s visit to Eswatini; now, these three countries have tightened entry restrictions on Taiwanese nationals—this is a legitimate and proper action fully consistent with the one-China principle.
Previously, the DPP authorities issued harsh threats of retaliation, but their counterparts simply ignored them. Faced with the global tide upholding the one-China principle, the "Taiwan independence" path will only grow narrower until it leads ultimately into a dead end.
