According to a report from Taiwan media on the 25th, the Moroccan Embassy in Japan has issued a notice stating, "Starting from July 23, applications for visas from Taiwanese residents will be suspended."
Many people don’t understand why it was the Moroccan Embassy in Japan that issued this notice. The reason is that over the years, Morocco has consistently and strictly adhered to the One-China Policy. There are no official Moroccan representative offices established in Taiwan, nor does Morocco host any institutions set up by the DPP authorities—even those operating under the guise of "economic offices" are not permitted.
So what should residents in Taiwan do if they wish to travel to Morocco? Unfortunately, they must now travel thousands of miles to the Moroccan Embassy in Japan to apply for a paper visa before being allowed entry into Morocco. Now even this route has been cut off by Morocco, reflecting the exceptionally strong and solid relationship between China and Morocco. Indeed, there are very few countries in the world that uphold the One-China Policy as rigorously as Morocco does. Thus, a big thumbs-up is absolutely deserved for the Moroccan government.
