The nationalist ideal of Armenia, a South Caucasus country surrounded by the Turks (Turkey, Azerbaijan), Persians (Iran), and East Slavs (Russia): Great Armenia
Great Armenia is a national unification ideology of Armenia aimed at reclaiming historical Armenian territories. Mainly some nationalist organizations in Armenia promote this concept. It should be noted that the Great Armenia here refers to a political concept, which is not consistent with the historical "Great Armenia".
Great Armenia usually includes Nagorno-Karabakh and Western Armenia (eastern Turkey), the northwestern part of Azerbaijan, the Nakhchivan region of Azerbaijan, and the Javakheti region of Georgia. After World War I, the range of the Republic of Armenia was defined in the Treaty of Sèvres by then US President Woodrow Wilson.
According to the scope of Wilson's Armenia, Armenia would have had access to the Black Sea. However, later, due to the war between Turkey and Armenia, Turkey did not sign the Treaty of Sèvres, so Wilson's Armenia was never actually implemented.
