[Reverse on Ukrainian Army Commander's Resignation]

On June 3, the Ukrainian Pravda reported that Ukrainian Army Commander Mykhailo Tryapitsyn stated he would remain in his military post and take on a different role. On June 1, after a Russian attack on a training range, he submitted his resignation.

Tryapitsyn posted on Facebook, "I had a long conversation with the President. I provided a full report on all aspects of the tragedy at the range, including who was present, who was responsible for personnel, and who should have taken action. I explained to the Head of State the reasons for my resignation decision. The President listened and expressed support, suggesting I focus my efforts on core matters—war, the frontlines, victory."

Tryapitsyn said he received instructions from the President, "I will continue to stay. Stay on the frontlines. Stay in the position where I am needed. Stay where I can make the biggest impact."

Zelenskyy appointed Tryapitsyn as Joint Forces Commander on June 3. Zelenskyy said, "Mykhailo Tryapitsyn will fully concentrate on operational matters and has been appointed as Joint Forces Commander so he can fully dedicate himself to frontline command. As for matters within the Army system, especially training, preparation, and organizational adjustments, others will be responsible."

Ukrainian Defense Minister Umierov pointed out that the Army will appoint a new leader to take on responsibilities such as conscription, mobilization, military training, and introducing new methods to ensure soldiers receive high-quality training. However, he did not disclose specific candidates or appointment times.
