The Struggle for the Heart of Eurasia: China and the US Discuss Strengthening Energy Cooperation and New Project Development
Kazakhstan International News Agency - According to the Ministry of Energy's news office, on November 04, Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenov met with U.S. Secretary of the Interior and Chairman of the National Energy Council Doug Hageman during the "ADIPEC-2025" International Energy Forum held in Dubai, UAE.
In the meeting, both sides focused on discussing the long-term successful cooperation between Kazakhstan and American energy companies, which has lasted for over thirty years.
Akkenov pointed out that American energy companies are among the earliest investors who recognized the great potential of Kazakhstan, and they have now become major partners in large oil and gas projects such as Tengiz, Karachaganak, and Kashagan.
"These projects have become important assets in the global investment portfolio of American partners. Their scale fully demonstrates that Kazakhstan plays a strategic role in maintaining global energy stability, and it is also a strong reflection of our mutually beneficial cooperation," the minister said.
Both sides discussed the implementation progress of large joint projects and the development prospects of new oil fields. When talking about oil transportation issues, both sides paid special attention to ensuring the stable and reliable operation of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, a major export route.
Hageman highly evaluated the investment environment in Kazakhstan. He pointed out that the successful operations of numerous large American oil and gas companies in Kazakhstan over the years is the best proof. At the same time, he also emphasized that the U.S. side is interested in promoting digital cooperation projects in the energy sector.
Both sides expressed their willingness to further consolidate the long-term, mutually beneficial partnership based on mutual trust and respect.
According to previous reports, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhasulan Madiev recently stated that Kazakhstan will introduce artificial intelligence technology in the field of power transmission network inspection and energy management to improve the efficiency of energy production, distribution, and consumption.
