Chinese enterprises will build waste incineration power plants in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, and the municipal city of Chimkent.
Kazakhstan International News Agency report: Recently, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan signed an agreement with Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group and East Hope Group for investment in building waste incineration power plants in Astana and Chimkent cities.
The news said that according to this investment agreement, a waste treatment plant with a daily processing capacity of 1,500 tons of domestic waste (approximately 5.5 million tons per year) is planned to be built in Astana. The total investment in this project is 94.4 billion tenge (approximately 180 million US dollars).
In addition, a waste treatment plant with a daily processing capacity of 1,000 tons (approximately 3.6 million tons per year) will be built in Chimkent. The investment in this project is 53.9 billion tenge (approximately 100 million US dollars).
During the implementation of the project, more than 550 temporary jobs and about 200 permanent jobs will be created.
The Ministry of Ecology stated that the commissioning of these facilities will greatly reduce the amount of garbage sent to landfills and generate environmentally friendly electricity.
