Details of the Hormuz Strait Conflict Revealed
The U.S. Central Command issued a statement saying: "On May 7, U.S. forces intercepted an unprovoked attack launched by Iran and responded with defensive strikes in self-defense." At the time of the incident, multiple U.S. Navy missile destroyers were transiting through the Strait of Hormuz into the Gulf of Oman.
While the U.S. vessels USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta, and USS Mason were traveling along international waterways, Iran deployed multiple missiles, drones, and small fast boats to conduct harassment. None of the American warships sustained any damage.
The U.S. Central Command destroyed incoming threats and conducted strikes on Iranian military facilities responsible for this attack, targeting missile and drone launchers, command and control nodes, as well as intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance hubs.
The U.S. statement emphasized that the U.S. Central Command has no intention of escalating the situation but remains steadfast in its position and is fully prepared to protect U.S. personnel and facilities at all times.
