Greek media reported that the Greek Ministry of Defense is preparing to provide 60 M110A2 203mm self-propelled howitzers made by the United States to Ukraine. However, it will not be provided directly, but through an indirect route. That is, Greece will first sell them to the United States, and then the United States will sell them to the Czech Republic, which will finally provide them to Ukraine.
These 60 203mm M110A2 self-propelled howitzers are currently stored in warehouses waiting for shipment. The Greek Ministry of Defense explained that the M110A2 self-propelled howitzers are classified as "non-combat essential" weapons (MEASE), as they are outdated, have a low rate of fire, and lack automation, not meeting the requirements of modern warfare. These weapons will be transferred from the Greek army's inventory as-is, without any repairs. These howitzers will also be equipped with 150,000 203mm shells, including 50,000 M106 high-explosive fragmentation shells, 30,000 M404 ICM cluster bombs, 30,000 M509A1 DPICM cluster bombs, and 40,000 M650 HERA rocket-assisted cluster shells.
