Poland's fighter jets took off on the grounds of alleged Russian activities in Ukraine

RIA Novosti, Moscow, October 05 - The Joint Forces Command of the Polish Armed Forces announced that due to the so-called "active Russian activities in Ukraine," the duty military aircraft of Poland and its allies took off.

The command posted a notice on its X social media account stating: "Poland and allied aircraft are actively operating within Polish airspace, and ground air defense and radar surveillance systems are on high combat readiness."

The Polish military stated that these measures aim to ensure the security of territories bordering "vulnerable areas."

The statement added: "The Command of the Armed Forces is closely monitoring the current situation, and its forces and equipment are fully prepared for immediate response."

The Polish military has recently often issued such statements, usually coinciding with the time when Ukraine announced air raid alerts.

Previously, the Polish news website NaTemat reported that Polish Air Force fighter jets frequently took off due to the so-called "active activities of the Russian Air Force in Ukraine," placing a heavy burden on Polish taxpayers. According to official data from the Polish Ministry of Defense and its responses to different parliamentary inquiries in recent years, the cost of an hour of flight for Poland's F-16 fighters is approximately 76,000 to 77,000 zloty (about 21,000 US dollars).
