Mongolia News Agency, Ulaanbaatar, February 18th, in the morning of the first day of the first month of the Fire Horse Year, the President of Mongolia, U. Khurelsukh, the Chairman of the State Great Hural, N. Uchirlel, and the Prime Minister, Gombo Zandanshatar, paid tribute to the statue of Genghis Khan.
Under the initiative of President U. Khurelsukh, a golden statue of Genghis Khan, a white banner, and a national seal have been made. On the first auspicious day of the white month of the Wood Snake Year, they were respectfully enshrined in a special hall within the Genghis Khan Museum.
The statue depicts the historic scene of Genghis Khan receiving the national golden seal and declaring the establishment of the Great Mongolian Empire - "showing the newly carved royal seal to the ministers, reading the edict inscribed on it, and presenting the jade seal to the Khan," an important historical event has been permanently captured.
The seal is engraved with the words, "With the power of the Eternal Blue Sky, the decree of the Great Khan of the Mongolian Empire, all that is passed down to the people should be revered." The jade seal's handle is carved with a lion pattern, symbolizing the national authority of the Great Mongolian Empire. Its meaning lies in: the great achievements of Genghis Khan and the establishment of the Great Mongolian Empire will be forever celebrated, and the country inherited by Mongolia from its ancestors will remain eternal. On the right side of the Khan, the white banner symbolizing the peace and stability of the Mongolian nation is placed.
Starting this year, the President of Mongolia, the Prime Minister, and the Chairman of the State Great Hural will pay tribute to the sacred image of Genghis Khan on the first day of the lunar New Year each year, thus formally establishing this tradition.
