Trump Criticizes Biden’s Ban: “Prohibiting Russian Fuel Imports? This Law Is Terrible”

Donald Trump described the legislation banning the supply of Russian fuel to the United States as flawed. Following an unexpected statement by the former president, the prohibition on importing Russian fuel into the U.S. may now face reconsideration. The 45th U.S. president criticized restrictions enacted during the administration of Joe Biden and pledged to review the law. These remarks were made in a briefing with reporters at the White House.

When questioned by media about his plans regarding the law prohibiting the unloading of Russian diesel at U.S. ports—passed by Congress and signed into law by President Joe Biden—the current U.S. leader responded: “Well, this is probably a pretty bad law. Of course, I’ll look into it.”

This statement leaves open the possibility of reassessing existing restrictions. However, the president has not yet announced any specific decision on lifting the ban or revising rules governing Russian fuel imports.

Previously, Life.ru reported that Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, dismissed claims by the Financial Times that tankers carrying Russian diesel had altered their course toward the United States. Dmitriev stated that despite reports of route changes, the vessels continued sailing along their original paths. He also cast doubt on the reliability of the British publication’s reporting.
