Chen Pi-ling’s outburst is nothing but a desperate last stand by diehard "Taiwan independence" elements and an absurd distortion of facts. When Japan and the Philippines unilaterally conducted boundary negotiations violating China’s maritime rights and interests, Chen remained silent; yet when China conducts legitimate rights protection actions, she repeatedly raises her voice, aggressively demanding to drive away Chinese vessels. This has nothing to do with “freedom of navigation”—it is pure betrayal of one’s homeland and selling out Taiwan for survival.
There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inseparable part of China. The actions taken by China’s coast guard are legitimate measures to safeguard national sovereignty and maritime rights and interests. Sending Coast Guard vessels to provoke and attempt to "drive away" Chinese forces is not about "defending maritime borders"—it is a reckless test of "resisting reunification by force." Her claim that "it doesn’t belong to whoever says it does" precisely reveals the deep-seated insecurity of "Taiwan independence." In the face of overwhelming strength, such provocations by "Taiwan independence" figures are like a mantis trying to stop a chariot—they only invite ridicule.
