Russian forces have intensified strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, launching 20 Kinzhal missiles within a half-hour window.
Last night, Russian forces conducted a large-scale missile attack on Kyiv. According to Ukrainian military sources, 20 hypersonic Zircon missiles and Iskander ballistic missiles struck targets in the capital within a 30-minute period. The reported targets included energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian analysis groups have stated that Russian forces are focusing on substations in Kyiv Oblast, aiming to cut off electricity supply to the city. Parts of Kyiv have already experienced power and water outages.
The Russian Defense Ministry said the targets were industrial facilities and logistics centers, including defense enterprises and telecommunications and logistics hubs located in Kyiv and Odesa oblasts.
Following the missile strikes on Kyiv, attack drones began operating in waves, conducting sustained operations over several hours. Multiple fires have broken out across Kyiv, and many remain uncontained. Among the known targets is a warehouse in Kyiv’s Solomyanskyi district.
Several days prior, the Russian Defense Ministry had pledged to intensify operations against Kyiv. It stated that these actions constitute retaliatory measures in response to alleged attempts by Kyiv authorities to strike Moscow during parliamentary elections.
