Zelenskyy said he would “ride a missile” to Moscow; Zaharova coldly mocks: He fears ending up like the False Dmitry
Moscow, September 24 — RIA Novosti
Maria Zakharova, official spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, responded to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s remark about arriving in Moscow “by missile,” stating that Zelenskyy appears concerned about suffering the fate of the False Dmitry.
In her Telegram channel, Zakharova wrote: “In response to Valentin Bogdanov’s question, Zelenskyy stated he would ‘arrive by missile.’ It seems Zelenskyy is afraid of sharing the fate of the False Dmitry—the impostor from the Time of Troubles whose ashes were loaded into a cannon and fired toward Poland (a reminder to Radosław Sikorski).” She referenced Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski in this context.
She noted that Zelenskyy concluded his reply with a self-introduction, evidently aiming to make clear “who one is dealing with.”
According to RIA Novosti reporters, Zelenskyy delivered a speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, when the hall was only partially filled. After concluding his remarks, he left the building accompanied by security personnel, during which journalists approached him in both English and Russian. When questioned in English about drones operating in Romania, he responded in English. However, when asked in Russian about when he would visit Moscow, he replied in Russian: “by missile,” followed by a profanity.
