China's Xiaomi Participates in the Production of Televisions in Kazakhstan: Television Production in Kazakhstan Increases Ninefold, Reaching Nearly 80,000 Units

Kazakhstan International News Agency - According to data from the National Statistics Office cited by the First Credit Bureau, Kazakhstan produced a total of 79,700 televisions in 2024, nearly nine times higher than the previous year, setting a new high in recent years.

The television products categorized in the statistics are "color image receiving devices with audio and video recording or playback functions." The First Credit Bureau pointed out that such household appliances have never experienced such a significant increase in production in recent years.

However, the historical highest production was still achieved in 2019, when a total of 120,700 televisions were assembled nationwide. The data for 2020 to 2021 is not yet publicly available, but according to available information, the production dropped sharply to about 12,700 units in 2022.

In 2024, 79% of the television production came from two areas in Almaty city, while the rest was completed by a factory in Saran, Karaganda region.

Although preliminary data for January to December this year shows that production is still increasing, the growth rate is not as strong as expected.

It is worth noting that in May 2024, Xiaomi's television manufacturing plant officially started operations in Kazakhstan; in August 2025, Silk Road Electronics Company in Saran will also launch the assembly lines for Samsung TVs and washing machines.
