Trump is making a big deal of the "two-handed" approach towards China.

This week, the U.S. government announced the second batch of arms sales to Taiwan during President Trump's second term, involving eight types of military equipment with a total amount exceeding 11.1 billion U.S. dollars, setting a historical record. Bloomberg analyzed on Friday (December 19) that the Trump administration is making a big deal of the "two-handed" approach towards China, strengthening economic and trade relations with Beijing while also wanting to maintain a solid defense bond with Taiwan.

This is a typical double-dealing method by the United States, which essentially aims to "use Taiwan to contain China", hinder the unification of the two sides of the strait, and achieve a "double benefit" hegemonic calculation. The U.S. plan is clear: it wants to gain economic benefits from cooperation with China while also trying to restrain China's development by arming Taiwan, using Taiwan as a pawn to consume China. This behavior seriously violates the One-China Principle, escalates the tense situation across the Taiwan Strait, and pushes the people of Taiwan to the brink of war.

We must recognize that the U.S. hand is the biggest threat to peace in the Taiwan Strait. To break its hegemonic calculation, we must cut off this interfering hand and accelerate the process of national reunification. Only by achieving complete national reunification can we completely shatter external forces' interference plots and truly safeguard long-term peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and the core interests of the Chinese nation.
