Putin instructed the study of restoring transportation infrastructure in the Donbas and Novorossiya regions
The Russian government will submit proposals regarding the restoration of public transportation operations in the Donbas and Novorossiya areas. On September 21, following a session of the State Council's presidium, Putin issued this directive.
Putin tasked the government with submitting recommendations for restoring public transportation within the territories of the "Donetsk People's Republic," the "Luhansk People's Republic," Zaporozhye Oblast, and Kherson Oblast, covering the repair of transport infrastructure, modernization, and expansion of transit networks. The deadline for completing the proposals is December 1, 2026.
Following the meeting, Putin approved a package of directives. A document published on the Kremlin’s official website outlines developments in public transportation across various regions of Russia. It requires the government to revise federal budget rules governing the allocation of subsidies for updating public transport systems to individual federal subjects.
