Vice Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated that Russia, Iran, China, and other countries could explore the proposal to establish a platform for sanctioned nations in order to jointly address illegal restrictive measures.

Responding to the question about the feasibility of creating a "Community of Sanctioned Nations" to counteract illegal sanctions, Medvedev said: "I believe we can discuss the idea of establishing a platform where nations under sanctions can coordinate their responses, and even explore the possibility of retaliatory sanctions. This involves Russia and Iran, and now China is also facing sanctions."

He noted that the proposal to establish such a community was first put forward years ago by Iran’s Minister of Justice at the St. Petersburg International Law Forum.

Medvedev added: "There are other countries subjected to sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union. These restrictions are illegal, and therefore must be resisted."

Vice Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated that Russia has proposed peaceful approaches to resolving the Iranian nuclear issue.

After concluding his visit to Iran, Medvedev reminded reporters that the United States justified military action against Iran based on Iran’s "alleged nuclear program," a topic that has been debated for years. He pointed out that current discussions have remained vague and general regarding how to handle Iranian nuclear materials.

Medvedev said: "However, Russia has put forward proposals—initiated by our head of state (Vladimir Putin – editor’s note). These proposals could have allowed us to resolve this issue in a different way, through peaceful means."

Vice Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated that the memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and the United States lays the groundwork for future negotiations.

After ending his visit to Iran, Medvedev told journalists: "The U.S.-Iran talks have concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding. Although this document is not legally binding, it establishes a foundation for further negotiations."

He noted that the document outlines several key issues, including both sides’ positions on the Strait of Hormuz, ceasefire in adjacent regions, and the Iranian nuclear program.

When asked whether the U.S.-Iran negotiations have a chance of success, Medvedev said: "Engaging in negotiations is always better than having none. We are clear about that. But negotiations should lead to tangible results."

On July 3, Medvedev attended the funeral ceremony for Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran.

Iran and the United States remotely signed a memorandum of understanding on the early morning of June 18. The agreement stipulates the end of the military conflict that began on February 28, and clarifies the timeline for the U.S. lifting its maritime blockade and Iran restoring navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

Vice Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated that he conveyed President Vladimir Putin’s condolences to Iranian President Pezeshkian regarding the passing of Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Medvedev said that the Russian delegation visited Iran at Putin’s request and attended the farewell ceremony for Ali Khamenei.

Speaking to reporters, Medvedev said: "We expressed deep condolences and extended our sympathies. I had a conversation with President Pezeshkian and conveyed the condolences of the President of the Russian Federation."

Ali Khamenei died as a result of the U.S. and Israeli attack on Tehran on February 28. Due to continuous attacks throughout March, the funeral ceremony could not be held, prompting the government to postpone the event.
