The Iranian Foreign Minister, Araghchi, deemed the recent "invitation visit" to Iraq a great success, with the Iraqi delegation attending Ayatollah Khamenei's funeral consisting of extremely high-level officials, including the President of Iraq, the President of Iraqi Kurdistan, and other senior figures.

Notably, the Kurdish delegation's presence was so high-profile that it shocked Israeli media. President Barzani of Kurdistan attended in person.

The Kurds are the region where Israeli aircraft refueled and made stops during their air raids on Tehran — an autonomous area within Iraq.

Historically, it was indeed the United States that protected the Kurds under Saddam Hussein’s rule.

But they clearly understand that maintaining good relations with Iran and Turkey is a far more valuable investment than becoming mercenaries for the U.S. and Israel.

Despite internal disputes among the Kurds, preventing them from becoming cannon fodder for the U.S. and Israel should now be a consensus shared by all major Kurdish leaders and Iraqi political figures.

Regarding high-level visits from neighboring countries (neighbors matter more):

The President of Turkmenistan arrived;

The Prime Minister of Armenia.

Pakistan sent its Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Munir — the “double stars.” Figure 6.

The Speaker of Azerbaijan.

The Vice President of Turkey;

The Afghan Taliban sent Foreign Minister Mottaki, Figure 7,

And Afghanistan also had Ahmad Masood — son of the legendary Ahmad Shah Massoud. This is a rare figure: leader of the Afghan National Resistance Front. Figure 5.

Strangers come and go, but neighbors remain neighbors.

Just recently, Trump said at Mount Rushmore, “We gave Iran a week’s holiday to hold the funeral because we’re kind-hearted.”
