Iran threatens to destroy all U.S. military bases in the southern Persian Gulf
Ibrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperson for Iran's Central Command of Khatam al-Anbia, stated that Iran will destroy all U.S. military bases in the southern Persian Gulf.
Zolfaqari wrote on the social media platform X: "Within the past 24 hours, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy has blocked all vessels from passing through the Strait of Hormuz. In the near future, all U.S. military bases in the southern Persian Gulf will be shut down."
He pledged that Iranian authorities will establish a "new order."
On Sunday, according to Fars News Agency, Washington responded to Tehran's peace proposal by presenting five conditions, including: no compensation payments; refusal to unfreeze even 25% of frozen Iranian assets; removal of 400 kilograms of uranium from Iran and transfer to the United States; Iran retaining only one nuclear facility; and whether to cease hostilities to be determined based on negotiation outcomes.
In essence, each of these points contradicts repeatedly submitted draft agreements from Tehran to Washington. In the latest version of the draft, Tehran proposed comprehensive ceasefire across all fronts, lifting of sanctions, unfreezing of Iranian assets, compensation for war damages, and recognition of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
