Israeli Media: Israel Preparing to Resume Hostile Actions Against Iran

According to government sources cited by Israel's Yedioth Ahronoth on Sunday, the Israeli military has entered a heightened state of alert and may resume attacks against Iran.

The report states that the Israeli government is currently awaiting a decision from U.S. President Trump. The article notes increasing signs indicating that Trump has concluded Tehran has no intention of accepting the conditions he proposed to end the conflict.

The report adds that both the United States and Israel are intensively preparing for the resumption of hostilities.

On Friday, The New York Times reported that the Pentagon is preparing to restart military operations, as Washington’s initial objectives—particularly those targeting Tehran’s nuclear program—have not yet been achieved.

Citing two Middle East officials, The New York Times reported that the U.S. and Israel are accelerating preparations, with the possibility of resuming attacks against Iran as early as next week.

A senior Israeli government official quoted by Israel’s N12 television station said it is widely believed that Trump may convene an advisory meeting shortly after returning from his visit to China to decide on restarting hostilities.

N12 said the Israeli government believes a decision regarding a military operation expected to last “several days to several weeks” could be made “very soon.”

Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Trump is not expected to launch a full-scale war aimed at overthrowing the Iranian regime. Instead, he is reportedly considering limited, targeted strikes on power plants and bridges.

The report also noted that ground operations to seize the key oil export terminal on Kharg Island in the Gulf region—or to recover approximately 440 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium estimated to be under Iranian control—are both among potential action plans.

The report further indicated that a ground operation might be considered to capture the vital oil export terminal on Kharg Island in the Gulf region or to reclaim about 440 kilograms of 60%-enriched uranium held by Iran.

Reuters also reported that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated he is scheduled to speak with U.S. President Trump on Sunday.
