China extends visa-free entry for 45 countries to the end of 2026, including Sweden in the visa-free scope
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Monday, November 3, that China will extend the visa-free entry policy for citizens of 45 countries, including France, Germany, and Spain, until December 31, 2026, and will include Sweden in this policy from November 10.
Reuters cited a statement released by the Chinese Foreign Ministry's Consular Affairs Office, stating that this extended visa-free policy covers 32 European countries, as well as Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and some South American and Gulf region countries.
For many of these countries, this policy was originally scheduled to expire at the end of this year.
In recent years, China has gradually provided visa-free entry for citizens of many countries, aiming to attract more foreign tourists, revitalize the tourism industry which was damaged by years of strict epidemic prevention measures, and promote external exchanges.
Currently, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom are not included in this visa-free plan.
According to the current regulations, travelers from eligible countries can enter China without a visa for business, tourism, visiting relatives, or transit, with a maximum stay of 30 days.
