Russian Space Agency: Russia and China Continue to Jointly Build a Lunar Station
Russian State News Agency, Hangzhou, November 03 - The head of the Russian State Space Corporation, Baklanov, stated that Russia and China continue to cooperate on the lunar research station project.
Prime Minister Mishustin of Russia arrived in China on November 03 to begin a two-day visit. On the same day, he attended the 30th regular meeting between the Russian and Chinese prime ministers together with the Chinese prime minister. Both sides signed a joint communiqué and multiple cooperation documents, including a roadmap for cooperation in satellite navigation.
Baklanov told journalists: "In May this year, during the visit of the Chinese leader to Moscow, both sides signed relevant implementation agreements. We are strictly following these agreements to advance the work, and both sides are jointly implementing the power facility construction project of the lunar research station."
In May this year, the Russian State Space Corporation signed a memorandum with the China National Space Administration regarding the construction of power facilities for the International Lunar Research Station. According to information from the Russian space agency, this research station will be used for basic space research, verification of long-term unmanned operation technology, and laying the foundation for future human moon landings.
