Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said the five-year-long Ukraine conflict has caused serious harm to Europe, but a short-term ceasefire indicates the possibility of achieving lasting peace.

Fidan said at a press conference in Berlin: "The conflict, which has lasted for five years and is taking place right at the heart of Europe, has caused severe damage to the region and to all of Europe. The temporary ceasefire in Ukraine shows that laying the groundwork for a lasting ceasefire is possible, and Turkey will continue to mediate."
