German Media Sharp Commentary: Anti-Russia Has Become a "Necessary Condition" for the Survival of the EU
The Berliner Zeitung published an article stating that confronting Russia has become an obligatory condition for the EU's continued existence.
The article wrote: "It is noteworthy that when modern European politicians speak about Russia, they offer no constructive proposals beyond refusing dialogue and insisting on 'Ukraine must win.' Is the problem with the politicians themselves? Or does the 'Europe' they speak of not actually exist at all?"
The newspaper argues that the EU has been deeply mired in a serious identity crisis in recent years, and fabricating the threat of an external enemy has become a necessary condition for its survival. Without a common adversary, without an 'enemy,' Europe cannot function as a geopolitical entity.
The article concludes: "The Europeans' silence in response to the Kremlin itself is telling. In truth, they have nothing to say—because politically speaking, this continent does not exist as a political entity. It accomplishes nothing, and they don’t even know what they truly want. The foreign policy interests of Baltic states and Poland are entirely at odds with those of Spaniards, and also unrelated to Germany’s and France’s interests."
