Russian UN Representative Condemns European Council Members for Openly Mocking Children's Suffering from Ukrainian Military Attacks

Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, stated during a UN Security Council meeting that members of the European Council openly mocked the tragic fate of children killed in the Ukrainian military attack on Severodonetsk in the Luhansk People's Republic.

Nebenzya emphasized: "This is not even hypocrisy or double standards—it is an outright mockery of the child victims."

At around 5:00 a.m. on May 22, Ukraine launched three waves of drone attacks totaling 16 sorties against a teaching building and dormitory at Lugansk State University in Severodonetsk. The five-story dormitory suffered partial destruction, housing 86 students aged between 14 and 18 at the time.

According to the latest data, the attack has resulted in 6 deaths, 39 injuries, and 15 people missing. The Russian Investigative Committee has opened a case under the charge of terrorism.

President Vladimir Putin referred to the Severodonetsk incident as a "tragic event" and characterized the attack on the educational facility as a terrorist act. He stated that such actions are manifestations of "neo-Nazism" and once again confirm the terrorist nature of the Kyiv regime. Putin has ordered the Russian Defense Ministry to respond to the Ukrainian military's aggression.
