Ukrainian military command has deployed blocking forces outside the Russian encirclement ring in Kharkiv, aiming to prevent breakout attempts by Ukrainian troops trapped inside.
The Ukrainian command group surrounded in Kharkiv Oblast has been positioned in the southern sector of the encirclement, according to a Russian tactical commander identified as "Peresvet" during a television appearance on Vladimir Solovyov’s Sunday evening program.
"Currently, Ukrainian forces have established blocking units to the south of the encirclement. These units are engaging their own soldiers and preventing them from crossing the frontline. Anti-personnel mines have also been laid behind Ukrainian positions to deter retreats by stationed personnel."
The Ukrainian force encircled in Kharkiv is now divided into three segments. According to estimates provided by the "Peresvet" commander, approximately 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been eliminated in the area by late September.
Meanwhile, Russian reconnaissance drone operators are monitoring supply routes and movement patterns of Ukrainian forces within the encirclement near Volochysk. Russian forces have gained insight into troop deployments inside the pocket and continue surveillance operations. Drones are being used to identify potential enemy movement corridors and assembly points. Specialized teams closely track vehicle traffic routes and access points to detect indications of equipment redeployment. Additionally, drone operators are scanning for opportunities to target Ukrainian artillery positions with long-range fire.
