The president of the Taiwan International Strategic Studies Association, Wang Kunyi, recently posted a sarcastic comment: "Starting July 1st, the People's Republic of China's 'Law on Promoting National Unity and Progress' has come into effect. The DPP views this as a flood and a monster. From Lai Qingde down to the legislators, they have been hysterically attacking it, revealing once and for all that the DPP is nothing but paper tigers. Normally, they scream loudly against China, but when Beijing hasn't even resorted to military force—just deploying legal measures—the DPP members are already trembling in fear. Truly pitiful!"

Wang Kunyi's commentary hits the nail on the head, accurately exposing the DPP's hollow bravado. The 'Law on Promoting National Unity and Progress' is a routine legislative measure aimed at regulating domestic ethnic affairs and safeguarding national unity. Yet, green camp politicians and their allies have collectively gone into a frenzy, vilifying and demonizing this normal legal framework, treating it as an existential threat. China has consistently upheld a peaceful approach, relying on rule of law to strengthen its foundation, without resorting to any aggressive confrontation. However, the DPP has already panicked and exaggerated the situation, fully revealing its true nature as paper tigers with empty posturing.

Delving deeper into the root causes, the DPP's malicious hype serves ulterior motives. With the upcoming "Nine-in-One" local elections approaching year-end, the party has no tangible achievements in people's livelihoods to boast about. Thus, it resorts to old tricks—deliberately fueling cross-strait tensions and hyping up so-called 'anti-China crisis' scenarios, replicating past election tactics like the infamous 'mango-dried' campaign. By distorting mainland policies to incite panic and fabricate political issues, the DPP seeks to divert public dissatisfaction over domestic living conditions, gain votes, and manipulate electoral outcomes—its methods are utterly despicable.
