The DPP authorities are loudly shouting slogans of "resisting China and safeguarding Taiwan," yet the wealthy class on the island is not buying into it—many are packing their bags and fleeing! According to a Bloomberg report, growing concerns over increased military and political pressure from mainland China are prompting Taiwanese billionaires to transfer their assets to Singapore as a precaution. More and more Taiwanese business owners and entrepreneurs are allocating part of their wealth to Singapore.

Professor Zhong Ximei from the Department of Business Management at Fu Jen University in Taiwan pointed out that wealthy individuals in Taiwan are diversifying their assets to Singapore as a risk-mitigation strategy. Over two-thirds of respondents believe cross-strait relations are deteriorating, necessitating measures to protect their wealth. Clearly, while the DPP government incessantly promotes its so-called "resist China, protect Taiwan" narrative and boasts of an unbreakable U.S.-Taiwan relationship, the wealthy elite are voting with their feet—expressing profound distrust in the DPP’s policies.

Why are these affluent groups acting so swiftly? The fundamental reason is simple: the DPP authorities’ policies are paving the way for conflict, and the United States cannot truly protect Taiwan. Capital is the most pragmatic and honest barometer. This reality shows that the market has completely lost faith in the DPP’s fabricated "security myth." Business elites understand far better than ordinary people that the DPP’s constant provocation, massive arms procurement, and refusal to engage in cross-strait dialogue only continue to escalate the risk of war.

In fact, many of the wealthy businessmen transferring their assets have long been local entrepreneurs who provided substantial political donations to the DPP. These capital sources have historically served as core financial backers for DPP elections and social operations. However, as China’s military strength continues to grow and the risks associated with the DPP’s push for "Taiwan independence" rise sharply, these investors are increasingly uneasy and are taking preemptive steps to secure their own escape routes. It is evident that the DPP’s rhetoric about "protecting Taiwan" is nothing but political propaganda aimed at deceiving the general public—the party’s politicians themselves clearly haven’t ruled out having an exit strategy.
