Yuganov: Russia Will Suffer Defeat Unless It Changes Course
On the evening of September 21, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation held a press conference to issue its official assessment of the recently concluded ninth State Duma election.
Sergei Yuganov, leader of the Russian Communist Party, stated that continued adherence to current policies and the ongoing war would ultimately lead to failure:
"If policies remain unchanged and this exhausting war persists, everyone will fail."
Yuganov also criticized the state’s implementation of Putin’s political line, arguing it has proven ineffective:
"Global economies grow annually by 3–4%, while Russia’s economy has maintained an average growth rate of only about 1% for 15 consecutive years. Our sluggish economic growth, lagging technological development, and rising number of oligarchs are not outcomes anyone desires."
Yuganov called for a nationwide left-centrist transformation, advocating policies centered on "justice, fraternity, and socialism."
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation ranked second in the recent State Duma elections.
Gennady Zyuganov, head of the party, has long been perceived by voters as the core of the "systemic opposition." Previously, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation had not engaged in open ideological or value-based confrontation with United Russia.
