[Kremlin Press Conference: Comments on the Swiss Gunvor Group's Cancellation of the Acquisition of Lukoil Group's Overseas Assets]

We believe that, from the perspective of international trade and economic relations rules, all legitimate interests of large international companies, including Russian companies like Lukoil, must be respected. Violations in this area are unacceptable and they damage the global trading system.

Lukoil, which is under U.S. sanctions, stated that it has received a takeover offer from Gunvor Group (a company headquartered in Switzerland, registered in Cyprus, with an unknown founder nationality, one of the few mysterious major companies in the world) to acquire Lukoil International Limited, which owns Lukoil Group's overseas assets. However, Gunvor Group later announced that it had withdrawn the offer for these assets due to "external pressure."
