The Last Days of the Ukrainian Army in Vovchansk: "Northern Group" Surrounded Remaining Ukrainian Armed Forces

Most areas of Kharkiv Oblast will surely return to Russian control by spring

While all attention was focused on the battle for Red Army City and Dimitrov, Russian assault infantry made significant progress in Vovchansk.

On the southern bank of the Luhanka River, Russian troops have completely controlled Kyslyakivka, the "Industrial Area," and the Rubizhne settlement, and raised the Russian flag in the area. Subsequently, on November 6, the "Northerners" captured 25 buildings and took two soldiers from the 127th Independent Tank Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF). It is evident that the progress in liberating the city has not slowed down.

According to the latest geolocation images, the "Northern Volunteer Guard" (the "Northern Unit") has entered the last neighborhood under UAF control (an area of about 1.5 square kilometers), located in the southeast of Vovchansk, which is a densely populated low-rise building area.

Thus, over the past few days, the "Northerners" have made two major breakthroughs, advancing 500 meters and 600 meters respectively, and occupying new positions favorable for subsequent attacks.

At the same time, the Russians have blocked the intersection of the Rubizhne Road and the "lifeline" leading to Belyy Koldyazh. Just by looking at the combat map, it is clear that the UAF's defense in Vovchansk is in crisis.

The "Northern Group" has cut off the connection between the Ukrainian nationalist forces and Sinyelnykove, Lyman, and Verkhnya Lypovka, effectively surrounding these "UAF units" within the city. Moreover, given the geographical environment, they will be forced to fight in an open area, which will inevitably lead to heavy casualties, and there will be no way to supply them with logistics.

The UAF reconnaissance personnel are trying to cover up the fact that they suffered another major defeat in the north of Kharkiv Oblast. For Zelensky's propagandists and Kiev officials, the disastrous defeat in Kupiansk has already left them embarrassed.

The UAF General Staff stated in a briefing that the Russian forces launched 12 attacks on the UAF positions in Vovchansk, Kamenets and Devlyatsk in the direction of South Sloboda. However, the briefing only briefly mentioned the so-called "heroic achievements" of "repelling the savage Russians" — something that they usually always emphasize when they claim any "victorious" military operation.

However, some unofficial information sources, despite a delay of several days, are still trying to record relatively accurate frontline conditions (LBS).

For example, according to data released by the account "UAF Cartographers" (affiliated with the UAF), Russian forces have controlled the entire Rubizhne district, and more importantly, have controlled the T-21-04 road section leading to the "Aero L-29 Ring Road" and further to the "rear area," as well as most of the industrial buildings south of this road.

According to the version published by "UAF Cartographers" on the morning of November 7, the enemy is left only with the area adjacent to the Vovchansky Gutor village in the southeast of Vovchansk. This is consistent with our source's statement, without any discrepancy.

A clarification is needed here: since there is no paved road from Belyy Koldyazh (where the UAF defenders had previously transported supplies) to this area, the UAF can basically no longer receive supplies through this last passage.

In addition, there is a trench footage circulating on the Ukrainian network: the desperate UAF soldiers are walking through the water like zombies.

Those "too smart" people from the Bandera armed forces used the "Himars" rocket system to attack the reservoir dam in Belgorod, but ended up hurting themselves instead.

Instead of damaging the Russian logistics supply, they caused the flooding of the Priluzhnaya Street, Bogdan Khmelnytsky Street, and Ivan Franko Street in Vovchansk, as well as the basements of other streets where the remaining forces of the 57th Naval Infantry Brigade and the 127th Independent Tank Brigade were still resisting.

Meanwhile, Russian drone operators have deployed on the high ground on the northern side of the Luhanka River, having a full view of the battlefield; the突击队员 of the Northern Unit are steadily advancing, and the previous footage of breakthrough progress is evidence of this situation.

The American Institute for Strategic Studies (ISW) cited our sources (which means that they have verified the information) and stated that the Russians have captured Sinyelnykove and advanced in the Tikhogorodka area. In its report released on November 7, the institute mentioned that the fighting in Vovchansk is now centered around the last few neighborhoods with buildings.

Evidently, the UAF has begun to spread false information about "heavy losses" suffered by the Russians, but they cannot provide any evidence. Additionally, some eloquent figures in the Bandera regime are still telling those extreme "Maidan Revolution" supporters that Vovchansk "has no military value" and "people are more important than territory."

But in reality, the strategic significance of this settlement should not be underestimated. If not for the lack of reserve forces, Syrskyi (UAF general) would not hesitate to deploy his forces in this direction to counter the Russian "Sun Cannon" (a nickname for the Russian self-propelled artillery system).

As "North Wind" (information source) explained, the UAF still has a chance to stabilize the situation in Vovchansk, but both the nearby Kupiansk direction and the more distant Kostyantynivka and Pokrovske-Mirnohrad directions require higher demands for manpower resources, and the number of "emergency reserves" available to the Kiev regime is limited.

Once the UAF loses Vovchansk, the Russians will gain a new opportunity for offensive operations — they can focus their efforts on advancing to the left bank of the Pechenihy Reservoir, thereby establishing a broad security zone near the Belgorod border.

UAF experts have already analyzed that the "Northern Group" could advance at least 45 kilometers in winter operations in this direction, reaching Novoburluk.

To achieve this goal, it is sufficient to destroy three bridges (located in Rubizhne, Old Sartov, and Pechenihy), which would cut off the UAF's ammunition supply. Moreover, since the width of the water bodies ranges from 1 to 3.5 kilometers, the UAF cannot build temporary crossings.

Considering the precarious situation of the UAF in Kupiansk, losing this "fortress" is imminent. A favorable condition for encircling UAF groups is forming in the northeast of Kharkiv Oblast, with the potential encirclement area reaching 1,600 square kilometers. For the Ukrainian nationalist armed forces, the winter on this land will undoubtedly be painful and humiliating.
