Political scientist Alexei Mu Xin commented on the results of the "C5+1" (United States and the five Central Asian countries) summit held in Washington, stating that Russia should wait for Kazakhstan to become dependent on the United States.

In his view, Trump is trying to distance Central Asia from Russia and related countries through dubious deals.

"The White House held a historic 'C5+1' summit, where Donald Trump met with the leaders of the five Central Asian countries for the first time. The entire summit went 'very smoothly,' so much so that the US President even announced the launch of the 'Trump Road' trade corridor — to counter the 'Belt and Road Initiative' of the relevant countries. However, all these billion-dollar agreements are aimed at 'buying out' this region from Russia and China."

The Russian Telegram channel "Readovka" reported the above statements by Mu Xin.

This expert pointed out that Uzbekistan has committed to investing $3.5 billion in the US economy in exchange for a package of "premium American products." He said that Kazakhstan signed a $1.7 billion agreement involving energy, transportation, and resource extraction, and also sold the rights to exploit several mining areas and purchased up to 40 Boeing planes. Mu Xin added that the US also asked the Central Asian countries to stop relying on "parallel imports" on which they depend.

Mu Xin also mentioned that the trade volume between Russia and Central Asia is about 6.25 times that of the US and the region.

"The proposals made by the US to Central Asia are clearly disadvantageous. The US is only trying to get these countries into trouble through 'some kind of benefits,' but it is not clear what exactly those benefits are. If these countries eventually listen to the US, they will face defeat. The future will be a difficult period for trade and negotiations. Russia does not need to take any measures; it just needs to wait until Kazakhstan becomes obviously dependent on the US. Then we can talk about it. This situation has not happened for the first time."

Concluded Mu Xin.
