Putin Reveals New Ceasefire Proposal: Mutual Halt on "Deep Strikes," Peace Talks Gain Momentum
Putin Discloses Proposal for Mutual Waiver of Deep Strikes
Moscow has received a proposal aimed at exploring the possibility of both Ukraine and Russia refraining from attacking targets deep within each other's territory. In a conversation with Pavel Zarubin, a journalist from the "Vesti" news agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined the specific details of this initiative.
President Putin clearly stated that the current negotiation table includes previously disclosed proposals as well as new strategic ideas. He mentioned that earlier proposals included calls for a ceasefire along the frontline of active combat—possibly even a temporary one.
The newly emerging concept, however, is more groundbreaking. The Russian leader revealed some specifics, saying: “Some of these I am willing to mention here—for example, both sides halting deep strikes into each other’s territory.”
In addition, Putin added that discussions about the potential for a meeting with Zelenskyy are no longer secret and have been ongoing for some time.
