Putin stated that Russia is willing to share air defense experience with China and India.
According to Russian media outlet "World Politics News" on June 5.
Russia is prepared to share its expertise in the field of air defense with China and India.
Russian President Vladimir Putin made this statement during his meeting with heads of major global news agencies at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"We are working on this ourselves, refining the system. Although not all issues have been resolved, this is absolutely a unique experience—unparalleled elsewhere.
This kind of experience cannot be found anywhere else.
We possess it.
We are willing to share it with our friends in China and our friends in India—and we are already doing so," the head of state said.
However, "sharing air defense experience" is more of a broad expression of strategic cooperation and arms trade collaboration, rather than mere gratuitous technical sharing.
During President Putin's visit to China in May 2026, China and Russia issued a joint statement emphasizing the improvement of military cooperation mechanisms and the expansion of joint exercises.
Meanwhile, Russia views India as a key arms market and is actively pushing forward deliveries of the S-400 and potential S-500 air defense systems to India, while also seeking co-production in areas such as the Su-57 fighter jet. This deep-level equipment export necessarily involves corresponding exchanges of operational and maintenance experience.
Before visiting India, Putin specifically emphasized to China that both China and India are Russia's "closest friends."
