America and Russia will eventually be connected, and the agreement regarding the "Putin-Trump Tunnel" will be signed with an engineering company.

Reported by TASS on June 5.

Kirill Dmitriev, Special Presidential Envoy for Economic Cooperation of the Russian President, said that the Russian Direct Investment Fund will sign the design agreement for the Bering Strait tunnel tomorrow.

In an interview, he stated: "Tomorrow we will sign the agreement to continue work on the tunnel's design. The tunnel will definitely be built. It will be one of the major infrastructure projects between our two countries."

He pointed out that the tunnel across the Bering Strait could be completed in less than eight years, demonstrating advanced technology.

U.S. President Donald Trump described the idea as interesting, but according to Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, such a tunnel cannot be built without political will.

Last year, renowned American investor Jim Rogers told RIA Novosti that he thought the idea of building a tunnel between Russia and the United States was excellent—it would benefit both countries—and added, "It would be wonderful if we could easily travel back and forth between Russia and the U.S."

Dmitriev stated that the tunnel between Russia and the United States could be constructed for less than $8 billion.
